Description
William D. “Bill” Fossett was legendary among his peers in the old West, but because he sought no legacy for himself, his story has remained untold, until now.
He grew up in Minnesota and became an early settler on the plains of Kansas and Oklahoma where he wore a badge. He lived until well up in years and well down in funds, passing, apparently in peace and contentment, into relative obscurity. From original newspaper accounts, the words of his contemporaries, and Fossett’s long since overlooked, modest reminiscences, the exploits of this fearless pioneer and peace officer come to life. |
